On April 13th, the 2016 Accountability, Climate and Equity (ACE) Awards were presented at Texas A&M University.   This is an annual event organized by the Department of Multicultural Services located on the main campus in College Station.

I was privileged to once again present the "Phyllis R. Frye Advocacy Award."

This year's winner was Hillary Park, RN, who works in the Women's Clinic of the campus Health Center.   She was lauded for her work at the clinic to insure that LGBTQ students felt comfortable when discussing their health needs.  As this award is for transgender advocacy, it was also noted in the nomination letters that Nurse Park has a definite outreach to also insure that transgender students who are coming out also feel comfortable as they discuss and present their health needs.

I expect that in a few days the photos of the event will be posted on the internet.  I suggest that you google "tamu ace awards 2016."
