Areas of practice and the laws that govern them began with English Law or English Common Law

Our system of laws is based on English law or sometimes refered to as Common Law.  English law began it's current development in 1066.

From English Common Law came the foundation for laws in the U.S. This included parts of the U.S. Constitution, delegation of powers in the three branches of government and separation of powers between Federal and State governments.
